Welcome to Saariniemi Estate. 

Set on a private peninsula by Lake Vanttausjärvi, Saariniemi is a place where nature, history and silence come together. Here, there are no crowds, no schedules and no distractions - only the rhythm of the seasons and the the peaceful presence of nature. 

In summer, daylight lingers long into the night. In  winter, snow settles over the landscape and the frozen lake becomes part of everyday life. The pace is slower here, just as it has been for generations. 

The story of Saariniemi began in 1862 as a forest ranger´estate. Since 1890, it has remained in the hands of the same family. The buildings, the lakeshore and the surrounding forest all carry traces of the people who have lived and worked here before us. 

When the property came into our care, the buildings had stood empty for many years. The restaration was guided by a simple principle: to preserve the character of the place rather than replace it. What you experience today is not a recreation, but the continuation of a living story.  

Today, the estate accommodates only a small number of guests each season, allowing its quiet atmosphere to remain.

Saariniemi offers something increasingly rare: the opportunity to experience the quiet luxury of space, privacy and a place with a genuine story to tell.
